Guys' Getaway to Naples, Marco Island & the Everglades

Golf

George Clooney calls his best guy pals “The Boys,” and they’re famous for nurturing their long-standing friendships with well-planned getaway adventures. No matter how you refer to your best buds, a guys’ getaway to Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades will leave the whole group with memories of everything from the great outdoors to luxury indulgences.

Fishing: Backcountry to Deep Sea

The Everglades offers an abundance of untouched backcountry fishing and wildlife viewing. Opt for a guided tour with Everglades Fishing Adventures through the Everglades National Park’s Wilderness Waterway for an expansive look at the unspoiled realm of mangroves, hidden coves and uninhabited beaches of the Ten Thousand Islands. The area’s redfish, snook, sea trout and tarpon weigh in anywhere from juvenile fish to 200-pound monsters. For a hands-on tour with a brag worthy trophy – try your hand at fly fishing with an experienced guide from RZ’s Fishing Extremes.

Or, take to the Gulf of Mexico for a deep sea fishing experience. Knowledgeable guides will take you on offshore excursions in search of grouper, bull sharks, snapper and more. Bahama Joe’s Charters caters specifically to the untouched barrier islands. For a full menu of watersports and fishing excursions, Port of Naples Marina is one-shop stop.

Wild Boar Hunting

Wild boars are fast, smart and dangerous, and their population has exploded across both wilderness and urban areas. You can help make a dent in their encroachment on urban areas through a wild boar hunt organized out of the Port of the Islands Everglades Adventure Resort – no hunting license needed. Just 40 minutes from downtown Naples, the resort offers a professionally guided wild boar hunt on vacant land. The hunt includes drinks, ice, the meat of one hog up to 150 pounds, and care of the harvested game. Harvesting includes skinning and quartering the animal from which you get two hams, two shoulders, two tenderloins, two back straps and two sets of ribs from each hog.

Two packages are available – a half-day hunt, four-hour hunt and the full-day experience that includes a hearty lunch. Guests can hunt on foot or on spot-and-stalk hunting vehicles including four-wheel-drive trucks, swamp buggies or electric four-wheel-drive Bad Boy Buggies.

Betting on a Good Time
