Tourist Development Council
The Collier County Board of County Commissioners appoints the official Collier County Tourist Development Council, as authorized by Florida Statute 125.0104, to advise the Board on matters pertaining to support of the area tourism industry and expenditures of the Tourist Development Tax. This nine member council was created on March 23, 1992 by Collier County Ordinance No. 92-18.
The Tourist Development Tax is a 4% charge on revenues from hotel rooms, campgrounds and short-term (less than six month) vacation rentals. The Tourist Development Council meets monthly on the fourth Monday of the month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Board of County Commission chambers.
