Enjoy Fun, Exciting and Educational Green Events on the Paradise Coast

The green events on the Paradise Coast are celebrations enjoyed by people like you, eco-concerned citizens seeking to show appreciation for our wondrous environment. Rest assured, there’s something for everyone in the area’s list of special events. From a nature festival highlighting birding hotspots to a week of activities celebrating the Florida Panther to a festival highlighted by a guided swamp walk, the Paradise Coast offers you rewarding and memorable event experiences.

Here’s a look at some of the major annual green events:

January – Southwest Florida Nature Festival: features guided trips to birding hot spots, educational and fun family activities. Hosted by the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Reserve.

May 1-October 31 – Sea Turtle Nesting Season: the annual season for sea turtles to build nests and lay their eggs on Southwest Florida beaches.

September – Clyde Butcher’s Annual Labor Day Muck-About: a weekend filled with guided swamp walks in the Big Cypress National Preserve.

October 28-29, 2011 – First Annual Florida Panther Festival: small group guided field trips into panther territory on October 28 (fees vary), and a full day of fun, music, food, entertainment and lots of fascinating information about the Florida Panther at the free public festival on October 29.
