Clyde Butcher and family will be hosting an open house in Big Cypress again this year on October 29 & 30 just in time for Halloween! Sign up for swamp walks led by Big Cypress National Preserve rangers. Swamp walks are $50pp (kids free) with all proceeds donated to the South Florida National Parks Trust to support outdoor education programs for kids in Big Cypress. Book early (the walks fill up fast) and plan to join us in the swamp for Halloween. How scary is that ???

In addition to the tours meet Clyde Butcher at his Big Cypress Gallery, where he will be exhibiting for the first time all of his photographs of 33 National Parks that he has photographed over the past 50 years. He is dedicating this exhibit and his new book to the courageous individuals who stood up to proclaim the need to save our wild places and to the forward-thinking ones who created the National Parks “for the benefit and enjoyment of the people”. In celebrating our 100th anniversary of the parks our local Big Cypress National Preserve Rangers will be at the Gallery to answer any questions about our local National Parks. What to wear – long pants, a long sleeve shirt, a jacket if you are cold-natured, old tennis shoes, bug spray and a cap with a visor. Bring a complete change of clothes as most people will get wetter than anticipated. Changing room provided. Also remember to bring your camera and a refillable water bottle.
Admission: $50; kids free
