Collier Tourism Marketers Bring Home Gold From Annual Flagler Awards

The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau took home the gold on September 11 at the annual VISIT FLORIDA Flagler Awards, announced at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism held September 11-13 at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios. Collier tourism executive director Jack Wert accepted The Henry, the top, gold-level award in the print advertising category for a three-part ad series targeted to group meeting planners titled Fresh Air Meets Fresh Thinking.

Naples, Fla. (September 17, 2013) - The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau took home the gold on September 11 at the annual VISIT FLORIDA Flagler Awards, announced at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism held September 11-13 at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios. Collier tourism executive director Jack Wert accepted The Henry, the top, gold-level award in the print advertising category for a three-part ad series targeted to group meeting planners titled Fresh Air Meets Fresh Thinking. The CVB was also awarded two silver Flagler awards for television advertising and niche marketing, and two bronze Flagler awards for Internet advertising and Out-of-Home advertising. The CVB's advertising agency of record, Paradise Advertising & Marketing, worked with the bureau to create the concepts and place the media buys for the winning marketing materials.

Named for Henry Flagler, the Flagler Awards were established in 2000 to recognize outstanding tourism marketing in Florida. Annually, the Flagler Awards honor many of the countless individuals and organizations that help maintain and improve Florida’s position as one of the world’s most popular travel destinations. The awards are open to all individuals, private businesses and not-for-profit organizations offering a product or service that promotes tourism to or within the state of Florida.

A panel of judges reviewed entries submitted in the following categories: Creativity in Public Relations, Direct Marketing, Internet Advertising, Mixed Media Campaign, Mobile Marketing, Niche Marketing, Out-of-Home, Print Advertising, Resource/Promotional Material-Consumer, Resource/Promotional Material-Trade, Social Media, Special Events, TV & Radio Advertising, Tourism Advocacy and Web Sites.
