“These new flights offer great access to our destination for both business and leisure travelers,” said Jack Wert, executive director of the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The New York and northern New Jersey area is a big supplier of visitors to our part of Florida, and now both new and repeat visitors will be able to arrive right in the middle of all that Florida’s Paradise coast has to offer.”

Paradise Coast Enjoys Record Growth in Tourism

The Paradise Coast has experienced revitalized tourism in the last five years, with record-breaking growth and a reported $1.9 billion in economic impact from tourism. The area, boasting some of the country’s Top 10 Beaches and the “Ten Thousand Islands Area,” is already accessible through Southwest Florida International Airport, located 30 minutes away in nearby Ft. Myers. Naples International Airport, puts visitors within minutes of the ocean resorts in Naples and Marco Island.

A 2015 telephone survey commissioned by the City of Naples Airport Authority showed 78% support from city and county residents to reintroduce commercial passenger airline service to Naples Municipal Airport, which has not been present there since 2007. The airport is home to flight schools, air charter operators, car rental agencies, as well as fire and rescue services. Naples Municipal Airport operates as a general aviation airport but complies with the standards of Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 139, maintaining the same level of security as commercial-service airports adhering to all TSA directives.
