Managed by the National Audubon Society, this 13,000-acre remnant wilderness area contains the country's largest remaining stand of virgin bald cypress. Offers a boardwalk that leads through pinelands, wet prairies, hammocks and cypress ponds. Audubon volunteers are often on the boardwalk to answer visitor's questions, and group tours may be arranged in advance.

Corkscrew After Hours
June 21, 2013
Stay past the normal closing time or just come for the evening program on monthly nightly events at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Each month the program takes a special focus. The June 21 program focuses on the Summer Solstice. Participants may take guided or self-guided walks on the 2.25 boardwalk through the old growth bald cypress forest and enjoy special presentations and programs, along with live music, art exhibits and envionrmental education programs.
