Collier County Tourism Reports Strong May Visitation Numbers

Destination continues to outpace 2019’s record numbers

Naples, Fla. – July 13, 2021 – Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB reported another robust month of visitation numbers in May, again surpassing the number of visitors in 2019 during the same month. During the spring months, the number of visitors from drive markets has remained high, allowing the destination to eclipse the visitation statistics from its record breaking 2019 season. In May, the total economic impact from tourism in the county rose 26.1 percent from the same month in 2019, meaning the year-to-date economic impact has now surpassed the benchmark set during that year.

“It was very important for us to finally catch up to 2019’s numbers in April, and we’re thrilled to see our numbers have remained strong, and we have now improved in nearly every metric,” said Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB Executive Director Jack Wert. “This spring, we have seen the culmination of the collective efforts of our partners that have allowed tourism to once again thrive on Florida’s Paradise Coast.”
