Village of Goodland
The tiny community of Goodland, located off State Road 92 at the southeast corner of the island, offers visitors a laid back charm unlike any other place in the region. There are several good restaurants located along the waterfront, several of which also feature some great musical entertainment. The stillness of the village, where cats and dogs can be found napping in the streets, changes drastically on Sundays during the fall, winter and spring, when hundreds of residents and visitors make the pilgrimage to Stan's Idle Hour for an afternoon of outdoor music, drinks and dancing. Today about 200 residents call the Village of Goodland home. There is an excellent public boat ramp at Goodland Boating Park and several marinas, also with boat launching and full marina services. Here it's all about getting out on the water and enjoying the beauty of the Ten Thousand Islands.
