The Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra is joined by its final guest artist of the 2022-23 season in this performance with internationally acclaimed vibraphonist Steve Nelson. One of the most well-respected vibraphonists of his generation, Nelson has garnered a reputation around the world as an intensely creative artists with a smooth and harmonic approach to contemporary jazz, having originated in the traditions of fellow vibraphonists such as Milt Jackson and Bobby Hutcherson. As a bandleader and as a sideman, Nelson has appeared in recordings, concerts and music festivals around the world with such artists as Kenny Barron, Bobby Watson, Mulgrew Miller, David “Fathead” Newman, Johnny Griffin and others.
