Classical music aficionados are no doubt well aware of the drama, romance and intrigue that surrounds the genre's best-known love triangle: Clara Schumann, her husband Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. All accomplished Romantic composers in their own right, these classical music stars channeled the passion and tragedy of their interpersonal relationships into their work. Join musicians of the Naples Philharmonic and special guest pianist Orli Shaham for an afternoon of stirring works by these famed composers. The program also includes a violin sonata by late-18th-century female Swedish composer Amanda Röntgen-Maier, who was influenced and praised by contemporaries such as Brahms, but whose work has largely been forgotten by history. Her work is now being rediscovered and celebrated along with that of her peers.
