2019 FBU National Championship Week December 14-19

Naples, Fla. (December 11, 2019 - Championship week in Naples, Florida’s Paradise Coast, has a hometown feel with numerous Collier County athletes set to perform on the biggest stage in all of youth football

Youth football’s biggest event is back and taking over Florida’s Paradise Coast for the fifth year in a row.  3,500 athletes, and their parents and coaches, are set to descend upon Football Paradise.  And the best that southwest Florida has to offer will be on display, both suited up and on the sidelines.

The Football University National Championship is a one of a kind national tournament celebrating and promoting youth football. It unites all-star athletes of all backgrounds from across the United States in a true national tournament. The only national football tournament of its kind, the annual FBU National Championship crowns a national champion from brackets in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.  The FBU National Championship is the single biggest event in youth football, and it culminates next week in Football Paradise – Naples, Florida.

In addition, Championship Week in Naples will once again feature the Football University Freshman All-American Bowl, the premier underclassman All-American game showcasing the best 70 freshman football players. It wouldn’t be an All-American game without Florida athletes, and rosters are covered with players from Florida - including a record five from Collier County.

The 8U and 10U National Invitational championship tournaments are back for their third year. Both will feature the top eight teams in the 8-and-Under and 10-and-Under age divisions, with the champion being crowned the official No. 1 team in the nation. Three Florida teams are participating: the Cypress Lake Hornets from nearby Fort Myers, the Fort Myers Raptors, and the Naples Gators.

In addition, for the third consecutive year the Paradise Coast will play host to the Futures Showcase, a premier showcase event that officially kicks off Championship Week. The Futures Showcase will feature elite athlete in 6th through 9th grade from across the country, competing in laser-timed combine events and competitive drills. Invitations to next year’s FBU Freshman All-American Bowl are given, as well as invitations to next year’s National Combine in San Antonio.
