Outdoor Fitness Experiences In & Around Naples

From cardio to kayaking, Florida’s Paradise Coast offers plenty of open-air workout options.
There’s a lot to love about Florida’s Paradise Coast, and its near-perfect weather and beautiful scenery make Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades an ideal spot for exercising outdoors. In fact, it’s part of the reason Naples has been named America’s happiest, healthiest destination for several years in a row by the Gallup National Health and Well-Being Index. With these outdoor yoga classes and fitness fitness experiences, vacationing well and staying fit go hand in hand.
Outdoor Yoga Classes
Florida’s Paradise Coast offers plenty of opportunities to practice yoga outdoors – on the lawn, on the sand or even on the water. Every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, instructor Lauren Fox of Donation Yoga Naples leads an all-levels vinyasa flow class on the beach for a suggested donation of just $20. Even better, a portion of the proceeds is donated to a local nonprofit organization each month.
Marco Island Yoga also offers hour-long beach yoga sessions every day on the island’s South Beach near the public beach access. All levels of yogis are welcome. Don’t forget your beach towel and water!
During season, Naples Botanical Garden offers Tai Chi and Yoga classes on the lawn. Classes are open to all levels, and the cost is $10 plus Garden admission.
And if you want to combine your yoga class with a morning on the water, there’s an island yoga cruise for that! Each monthly excursion departs by boat from Pure Florida’s Tin City location and heads to Keewaydin Island, where an instructor from Yoga House Naples leads a one-hour yoga class on the island. Afterward, go for a nature walk, collect seashells or take a dip in the water before enjoying a narrated nature tour through Naples Bay on the cruise back to Tin City.
For an extra challenge, Naples Kayak Company offers guided Saturday morning yoga sessions – atop a paddleboard! SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboard) Yoga will test your balance and skill in the most picturesque of settings: the Naples Greenway’s mangrove forest. Reservations are required and can be made online.
Outdoor Fitness Experiences
For a self-led open-air workout, head to Cambier Park in downtown Naples, where an outdoor adult fitness area offers equipment for a variety of aerobic, core, balance and flexibility exercises. The calisthenics park at Naples Airport also features a range of exercise equipment, including high bars, pull-up bars and incline benches. An outdoor fitness area is also slated to open at the new Paradise Coast Sports Complex.
Several parks in Naples also offer walking and running trails, including North Collier Regional Park, Eagle Lakes Community Park, Golden Gate Community Park, Gordon River Greenway, Sugden Regional Park and East Naples Community Park.
Then there’s always the option of a reinvigorating jog along a heavenly stretch of beach.
