"Just Another Canvas: Tattoos as Art" at Marco Island Center for the Arts

Just Another Canvas: Tattoos as Art This art exhibition will explore the history of this unique art form as well as the reasons why people choose to use their bodies as a canvass for art. Two of the featured artists are Cuban-born Pollyanna Fernandez and Jose Luis Bermudez. Having trained as fine artists both Fernandez and Bermudez continue to paint and show their work. They have also become renowned tattoo artists in Miami where their art can be seen on living canvasses. Both their fine art and their tattoos will be included in the exhibition. Additionally local photographers are working with area individuals to capture the artwork these people sport on their bodies that represents a wide range of images and themes. This is not an exhibition that anyone expects to see on Marco Island and we look forward to opening eyes and minds to new ways of seeing art.
