A Spa Shaped by Nature and Space

With three levels dedicated to wellness, guests have access to a wide range of facilities that support different paths toward restoration. One distinctive feature is the communal aqua-thermal circuit. While many spas separate spaces entirely, Sanctuary Spa includes areas where guests can relax together.

Within the circuit, guests move between steam rooms, saunas, cold plunges, vitality pools, and an ice room, alternating among these spaces to help prepare the body for treatments.

“When people do a circuit, when they go hot and then cold, it really makes them feel at the end, kind of like a wet noodle,” Nunez says with a laugh. “But what it really does is prep them for getting an amazing massage. If I can get my guests into a relaxed state before they even get on the massage table, we're winning automatically.”

Blending Ancient Practices and Wellness Technology

While traditional spa methods remain central to the experience, Sanctuary Spa also incorporates emerging wellness technologies that support relaxation and recovery.

“Spa is one of those things that's pretty ancient, right? We use heat, we use cold, we use touch, we use aroma,” Nunez explains. “But in the last 20 years, we've been able to see some really interesting developments in wellness technology.”

Among this Naples spa’s most innovative offerings is the Immortal Chamber, a system that combines infrared therapy, vibration, and acoustic frequencies. “With a system like this, when you lie down in the system, we use infrared and neuro infrared therapy. We use vibration and acoustics, and those acoustics work with the different alpha and beta waves of the brain and allow us to get guests into a different mindset.”

These technologies are paired with traditional techniques, such as breathwork, which therapists incorporate into treatments. “I want guests to be able to learn something even while they're getting a massage,” Nunez says. “Meditating is hard, but breathing is easy, and breathing with intention is incredibly important.”

A Team That Shapes the Experience

For Nunez, the success of any spa ultimately comes down to the people working there. “It doesn't matter how beautiful it is; it matters how great the therapists are,” he says.

Having spent more than three decades in the wellness industry—and more than a decade in the Naples area—Nunez has built relationships with therapists who share his approach. “I hand-selected them to come in and work here because I want anybody who recommends the spa to a guest to have the utmost confidence that we are going to execute at a very high level.”

From the front desk team to the therapists and attendants, he says the focus remains consistent: helping guests feel better when they leave than when they arrived.

Wellness That Continues Beyond the Spa

The Four Seasons wellness experience also extends into movement and learning opportunities throughout the resort. Guests can participate in beach yoga, meditation sessions, or workouts in the 24-hour fitness center curated by trainer Harley Pasternak. Future plans include guided wellness programming, sleep workshops, and mindfulness sessions led by visiting specialists.

For Nunez, wellness takes many forms. “Anytime you have the opportunity to sit quietly, sometimes even read a book, is a great opportunity for wellness,” he says.

Moments along the Gulf—watching the horizon, breathing in the ocean air, or reflecting after a treatment—often become the most restorative parts of a stay. On this stretch of Naples shoreline, where wellness and the natural surroundings work in quiet harmony, guests quickly realize a vacation here is Paradise in Every Sense.
