¡Bienvenidos! Get ready to take a colorful and exciting journey south of the border as ¡Viva México! makes its debut at Golisano Children's Museum of Naples.

This vibrant, hands-on exhibit immerses visitors in the rich culture, history, and traditions of Mexico, while exploring what life is like for children in Mexico today.

Exhibit Highlights
• Shop the Market: Stroll through a traditional Mexican street market where you can explore artisan crafts like colorful alebrijes (brightly painted folk art creatures) or create your own papel picado (traditional cut paper decorations). Stop by street food carts with Mexican treats like street corn, tacos, and churros and purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

• Visit a Traditional Home: Head to a house where you can make tortillas, then sit down to a delicious family dinner surrounded by the artwork of famous Mexican artists.

• Learn and Play: Visit a school to learn about the history of Mexico and create a Mexican flag. Learn some new Spanish words, then head to the schoolyard to play fútbol and other playground games.

• Dance to Mariachi: Dress up in traditional clothing and dance tolively mariachi music while playing musical instruments like maracas and guiros.

• Ride the Trajinera: Hop aboard a traditional trajinera boat and learn about the axolotl, a beloved and endangered animal in Mexico.

• Celebrate: Discover the significance of celebrations like Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

¡Viva México! was created by The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum. Admission to ¡Viva México! is included with general museum admission. The exhibit will run through January 3, 2027, and is perfect for children and families of all ages. So gather your amigos and get ready to dance, play, create, and discover all that Mexico has to offer!

¡Viva México! is part of a nationally traveling cultural exhibit series developed by The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum. To ensure an authentic and culturally accurate experience, The Magic House formed the ¡Viva México! advisory committee, consisting of professionals with deep-rooted connections to Mexico. This committee played a key role in the exhibit development process.The entire exhibit is presented in a dual-language format.
