Marco Island Center for the Arts Announces Exciting 25–26 Season

MARCO ISLAND, FL — Marco Island Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce the Arts Center Theatre mainstage season for 2025–2026. The upcoming season promises laughter, heart, and unforgettable live performances that will captivate audiences from November through April.

Season kicks off November 6–23, 2025, with “Baggage” by Sam Bobrick, directed by Pattie Ziesig. In this charming romantic comedy, two difficult singles—Phyllis and Bradley—find their lives entangled after a luggage mix-up at the airport. Their reluctant friendship blossoms into something more, revealing that sometimes, the best relationships come from the most unexpected connections.

Holiday Specials – Not Included in Season Package

In December, Arts Center Theatre offers two festive events sold separately from the season ticket package:

1. Selections from Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris, directed by Brett Marston (December 5–14 – only 6 performances) delivers wickedly funny holiday tales that skewer the season with biting wit.

2. “Singing and Swingin’ – The Holiday Songbook” (December 21–22 – only two performances), with Charlie Blum and featuring special guest Kristyn Estes, brings a joyful celebration of seasonal favorites.

Mainstage Season Continues:

1. January 8–25, 2026 – “Four Old Broads: Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant” by Leslie Kimbell, directed by Christi Lueck-Sadiq.

Southern sass and outrageous antics return as Lurleen Dupree hosts her seventh annual pageant, with rival retirees ready to compete, cheat, and charm their way to the crown in a riotous comedy full of surprises.

2. February 5–22, 2026“Moonlight and Magnolias” by Ron Hutchinson, directed by Marlene Strollo

Go behind the Hollywood curtain to witness the chaotic, true-to-life creation of Gone with the Wind, when three men are locked in a room and given five days—and a diet of bananas and peanuts—to write the screenplay that became an American classic.

3. March 5–22, 2026“California Suite” by Neil Simon, directed by Paula Keenan

A quartet of comedic tales unfolds in a single hotel suite, from custody battles to romantic mishaps and vacation disasters. Simon’s wit shines in this heartfelt and hilarious look at human relationships.

4. April 2–19, 2026“You’ve Got Hate Mail” by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, directed by Joan Gerberding

In this fast-paced comedy, digital drama explodes when an extra-marital affair unravels through a series of misdirected e-mails. Told entirely through digital communication, this play offers a modern twist on classic farce.
