Published on January 28, 2026

Marco Island, FL – January 28, 2026 The Marco Island Center for the Arts invites art lovers and lifelong learners to a compelling Art Talk with artist and educator Rob Eder as part of the Center’s Art Speaker Series. “From Tradition to Modernism” will take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In this thought-provoking presentation, Rob Eder offers a fresh and insightful exploration of the life and work of Pablo Picasso, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Viewing Picasso through the lens of a practicing artist and teacher, Eder examines how Picasso challenged artistic conventions, redefined visual language, and helped shape the course of modern art.

The talk traces Picasso’s mastery of traditional realism and perspective, followed by his bold departure into abstraction, fragmentation, and multiple viewpoints—innovations that revolutionized the art world and continue to inspire contemporary artists today.

“From Tradition to Modernism” promises an engaging journey through art history, innovation, and creative expression, offering audiences a deeper understanding of how Picasso’s groundbreaking ideas transformed the way we see and make art.

This free event is open to the public; however, RSVP is requested. Guests may reserve their spot by calling 239-394-4221 or online at www.marcoislandart.org.
