Marco Island Center for the Arts Presents “The Wildlife Art of Ron Orlando” in La Petite Galerie for November
Marco Island, FL — Marco Island Center for the Arts proudly presents The Wildlife Art of Ron Orlando in La Petite Galerie from November 3 through December 2, 2025. An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, November 11 at 5:30 PM. The reception is free and open to the public, celebrating both this new exhibition and the continuing “Words as Art” AI exhibition by the Digital Photography Club (DPI-Sig) of Naples in the Lauritzen and Rush Galleries.
Growing up in northern New Jersey, Ron Orlando developed a lifelong love of nature while exploring the wooded lot behind his childhood home. That early fascination with the natural world evolved into a passion for painting, leading to a career that beautifully merges art and conservation.
After 35 years as a high school art teacher, Orlando dedicated himself fully to wildlife art—capturing the textures, colors, and personalities of his subjects in stunningly realistic detail. Over a career spanning more than three decades, Orlando has become recognized for his intricate layering technique using acrylics, which brings remarkable depth and lifelike texture to his work.
Orlando has studied under internationally acclaimed wildlife artists Robert Bateman and John Seerey-Lester, and his work has been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions. Among his many honors, he received the Grand Prize in the 2004 “Arts for the Parks” competition for his painting Olympic Twins, chosen from over 2,500 entries worldwide.
Ron and his wife split their time between the woods of Pennsylvania and Naples, Florida, two places where the wonders of nature are never far from their doorstep.
The November 11, 2025 gallery reception at 5:30 PM is free and open to the public, offering guests an evening of art, community, and appreciation for the beauty of the natural world.
