Art as an Asset: Investing in Creativity

Naples, Fla. (July 2, 2025) – Amy Art Gallery’s Morning Art Breaks continue with “Art as an Asset” on Saturday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m., with guest host Ted Hudgins, a Naples-based attorney. The event will be held at Amy Art Gallery at 950 1st Avenue North in the Naples Design District, with treats provided by The Bakery at Grappino.

Hudgins will enlighten art buyers about art as an appreciable asset, with tips on how to appraise art to diversify a portfolio. “Investing in art is a way to create a legacy,” Hudgins commented. “While the key drivers for buying art are emotional and aesthetic value, they are followed by the artwork’s financial value.”

Hudgins will also detail benefits for investing in art such as inflation protection and potential for high returns, as well as cultural and social benefits.

Artist Amy Moglia Heuerman created the themed Morning Art Breaks, held on the third Saturday of the month through September, to engage and inspire Naples’ locals and visitors through art, conversation, and fresh-baked fare. The one-hour sessions offer a refreshing way to start the weekend, and a celebration of Naples’ creative spirit and sense of community—especially during the quieter summer season.

She noted that “Art as an Asset” is a theme that resonates with her buyers. “My buyers begin with passion for a particular painting,” Heuerman said. “I greatly appreciate that they are investing in not just their passion, but in an asset of high quality and authenticity that can endure for generations.”

Meet Ted Hudgins Before becoming a trusted attorney, Thomas “Ted” Hudgins III was a professional chef after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America. He subsequently earned his law degree cum laude from St. Thomas University, followed by a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida. He currently serves on the Florida Tax Law Certification Committee. Ted also gives back to the community through service on local nonprofit boards, including a longtime role as Treasurer for the Naples Zoo, a charity he helped organize.
