Classic board game "Clue" comes to life at The Naples Players
April 18, 2024, Naples, FL. Countless performers step in front of the audience with the goal to “knock ‘em dead.” Between a candlestick, wrench, lead pipe, and more, The Naples Players’ (TNP) production of Clue: On Stage is certain to do so!
With performances from May 1 - May 19 at Naples United Church of Christ in McSpadden Hall, Clue: On Stage, much like the board game from which it derived, is good fun. Filled with murder, mystery, and mayhem, this popular cult classic film-inspired whodunit will have audiences on the edge of their seats guessing to the very end.
On a dark and stormy night, six unique guests, a butler, and a maid assemble for a dinner party at the home of Mr. Boddy. When the host turns up dead, it becomes clear that no one is safe. Watch all of your favorite Clue characters come to life on stage as they race to figure out who the killer is. Was it Miss Scarlet in the kitchen with a rope? Perhaps it was Mr. Green in the billiard room with the knife?
“The rehearsal room is always filled with lots of laughs, and it has been great watching other seasoned actors do their thing and achieve our incredible director’s vision,” says Jennifer Mance, who stars as Mrs. Peacock. “The show is very physical, fun, and full of movement - and the crazy blocking is exciting to watch for the audience. Whether or not you’re a fan of Clue, if you enjoy Agatha Christie-like murder mysteries, then you’ll appreciate the story and all of its twists and turns. The audience will immediately be drawn into the story, and if you’re paying attention, then you might even be able to find the murderer all on your own. Or will you? This is the type of play that can be enjoyed by anyone.”
Director James Duggan is joined by the following team of industry professionals: scenic designer Michael Santos; lighting designer Chris Riley; sound designer Sean McGinley; costume designer Dot Auchmoody; prop director Amy Hughes; stage manager Taylor Matthews; and assistant stage managers Nancy Hayer, Judy Scribner, and Nicholas Young. James will direct an all-star cast of Naples favorites including (in alphabetical order): BOB CAPPETTA, KELSEY COSS as Yvette, KATIE CROSS as Miss Scarlet, NATHAN EICHHORN, MARCUS DEAN FULLER as Mr. Green, CAROLINA GRAU, JEN HART as Mrs. White, JON HART as Professor Plum, JENNIFER MANCE as Mrs. Peacock, MICHAEL SANTOS as Colonel Mustard, and MARK VANAGAS as Wadsworth.
