“Famlet” Unpacks Family Chaos with Humor at Marco Island Center for the Arts’ Arts Center Theatre
April 21, 2025, Marco Island: What do you get when you cross a moderately dysfunctional modern American family with one of the most notoriously dysfunctional families in the Shakespearean canon? You get Famlet!
From the clever and creative mind of local playwright Alex "Hubba" Costello comes Famlet, a sharp, witty, and heartwarming domestic comedy that takes the stage at the Marco Island Center for the Arts’ Arts Center Theatre from May 2 through May 11, 2025.
At the heart of Famlet is a young couple preparing to welcome their first child into the world—surrounded by the chaos of mismatched parents, an ultra-modern younger sister, and a Shakespearean twist that turns family drama into theatrical gold. Expect comedy, chaos, and a few ghostly echoes of the Bard’s most famous tragedy—all served with a modern, heartfelt twist.
The all-star local cast includes:
- Rhonda Davis as Nora
- Jay Terzis as Ernie
- Morgan Perdue as Julia
- Will Connors as Tom
- Olivia Rodriguez as Nina
- Charlie Doebert as David/Doctor
Directed with flair and affection, Famlet promises to deliver a fresh, funny, and ultimately touching look at the bonds—and bumps—that come with family.
