Osteria Capri adds new 3-course tasting menu

The award-winning chef, owner of Osteria Capri restaurants on the Isles of Capri and Marco Island, today added a new 3-course dinner tasting menu that demonstrates his culinary artistry, Italian heritage and takes advantage of seasonal ingredients. Each course is diverse in style, taste and texture, influenced by both the land and the sea.
“Our tasting menu allows guests to explore a wide range of rich flavors and traditional ingredients of Italian cuisine they might not otherwise come across,” says Chef AJ. “For example Fettuccine Mare e Monti is a dish I adapted for Florida from the classic ‘surf and turf’ pasta dish spaghetti mare e monti from Marche, Italy. The taste of this dish is exceptional thanks to the perfect mix of flavors, combining the briny taste of the sea (shrimp and scallops), the earthiness of mountains (wild mushrooms) and the brightness of summer (peas). It’s a perfect choice for those wanting both land and sea without ordering a la carte.”
Priced at $50 per person and available at dinner only, tasting menu guests may choose one each from four appetizers or salads, five main courses and two desserts. Selections include:
First course
Mista Salad – baby greens, tomato, olives and red peppers
Caprese Salad – tomatoes and Buffalo mozzarella on a bed of greens
Calamari Fritti – fried calamari with a side of tomato sauce
Polpette Siciliana – Sicilian-style meatballs, spicy eggplant and tomato sauce
Second course
Pappardelle Bolognese – homemade pasta ribbons with traditional Bolognese meat sauce
Fettuccine Mare e Monti – homemade fettuccine pasta, Italian sausage, shrimp, scallops sauteed with wild mushrooms and green peas in a white cream sauce and finished with truffle oil
Chicken Parmigiana – marinara sauce, melted Buffalo mozzarella and parmesan cheese
Beef Short Ribs – slowly braised beef short ribs over house-made gnocchi pasta in tomato sauce
Salmon Dijonnaise – pan-seared organic wild salmon finished in a Dijon Prosecco sauce with lemon and capers, served over sauteed spinach and roasted red potato
Dessert
Coconut tiramisu or cannoli
Curated wine pairings are available with the tasting menu where each course is matched with a specific wine (Super Tuscan, Chardonnay and Moscato) that complements the flavors of each course for an additional $20 upcharge.
Founded in 2019 by Chef AJ Black, Osteria Capri Naples waterfront restaurant is located at 387 Capri Boulevard on the Isles of Capri, two miles north of Marco Island between the Marco River, Tarpon Bay and the Johnson Bay with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico.
