Forbes.com - This past week, the 8th annual U.S. Open was held at the massive East Naples Community Park in Naples, Florida. This tournament is by far the largest event in the sport, with nearly 4,900 players entered this year. In 2023 I wrote an oral history of the event and its founders/tournament directors Chris Evon & Terri Graham, which lays down some great background if you’re not aware of the event’s history or growth. Soon after last year’s story was written, Evon & Graham partnered/sold the event to Pickleball4America, and announced earlier this year that the 2024 event would be their last U.S. Open at the helm.
