WHAT: Gentle Movement for Parkinson’s Disease WHERE: Zoom WHEN: Thursday, October 3, 2024; 1:00 pm (Meets Mondays-Fridays Weekly) WHO: The Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida COST: Free of Charge INFORMATION: ParkinsonAssociationSWFL.org (239) 417-3465 WEBSITE:https://parkinsonassociationswfl.org/classes.html This seated exercise class is designed to accommodate those with limited mobility, focusing on stretching, endurance-building, and some strengthening. While mindful of pain or low endurance, the class encourages participants to gradually increase their activity level, to improve how they feel and function. Evidence suggests that vigorous exercise may have a neuroprotective effect for individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD). Our group movement classes provide a flexible, functional approach to exercise, addressing multiple symptoms and adapting to varying levels of disease severity. Movement is a crucial component of living well with PD. There is no charge to participate in our programs for members. Participants are required to complete a membership application and participation waiver before participating in online and in-person programs. Click Here: https://waiver.fr/p-Ht7Fp to complete the required application online. For more information or to register online at https://parkinsonassociationswfl.org/index.html or call 239-417-3465.
