For more than a half century, perhaps no band has better defined the East Los Angeles sonic landscape than Mexican-American rock band Los Lobos. Offering a heady blend of rock, Tex-Mex, brown-eyed soul and traditional music, Los Lobos has created a sound uniquely their own. The band’s journey to fame began in the early 1980s, but it was their rendition of La Bamba for the 1987 Ritchie Valens biopic that catapulted them into international stardom, topping the Billboard 100 chart.
