Presenting a wonderful celebration of Czech classical music, respected Czech conductor Tomáš Netopil leads the orchestra through a program featuring works by two of the country’s best-known composers. The concert opens with Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony, which succinctly captures the composer’s signature blend of classical forms and folk melodies. Filled with catchy themes, rich harmonies and delightful orchestrations, this symphony offers Czech music at its finest. Following Dvořák, Janáček’s Taras Bulba is based on a novel by Gogal and tells an emotionally charged story set during a war between Cossacks and Poles. The evening ends with Dvořák’s Te Deum, featuring soprano Georgia Jarman, the Naples Philharmonic Chorus and the FGCU University Choir celebrating the beauty of the human voice.
