Marylynda MacDonald, the founder of the American fashion brand, Chu Chu Loo, is an artist and designer who finds inspiration in her late feline friend “Chu Chu Loo,” the brand’s name sake. Chu Chu Loo the cat is the muse and animal spirit of the collection, and his images are celebrated throughout the collection. Marylynda’s art is integrated in the designs on the signature Perez Print of splattered paint pants (inspired by real estate mogul Jorge Perez who commissioned the designer’s first commercial project which was one of many). As an artist whose works also include paintings of murals, faux finishes, abstract paintings, and Venetian Stucco, Marylynda has also received numerous awards in craftsmanship, which has directly influenced the Chu Chu Loo aesthetic and collection. The collection is sophisticated, elegant, and is designed by a woman for all women. Born out of artistic expression and an ethos of individualism, and using the finest quality fabrics, the Chu Chu Loo collection enhances a woman’s natural elegance, bringing to life the artist within. With a 16-year background in visual arts and design, Marylynda MacDonald developed Chu Chu Loo out of a need to provide women with bold colorful pieces that accentuated natural beauty. With a steadily growing celebrity fan base, Chu Chu Loo has been worn by the likes of celebrities Karrueche, Teri Hatcher, and Danielle Staub.
