Everglades National Park
The park is the only subtropical wilderness in the U.S. It contains temperate and tropical plant communities, as well as marine and estuarine environments. Take a boat trip from the Gulf Coast Visitor Center to see dolphins, birds and other wildlife. Boat tours (for a fee) depart every hour. A wide range of free ranger-led activities take place December through April, including canoe trips, bike tours, nature walks, saltwater fishing seminars and more.
