Most of the Refuge is boat accessible only, and is open to fishing and waterfowl hunting. Hike the 1mi Marsh Trail for spectacular birdwatching & photography, especially at sunrise and sunset on the 2-story observation tower. Access Marsh Trail near US41 mm31 at Lat-Long: 25.974144, -81.554085 on the south side of Tamiami Trail East.   In summer, visitors should avoid disturbing sea turtle and shorebird nests. Pets permitted on a leash.

  • Dates Closed: Note: Waterfowl hunting in accordance with Florida state game regulations is permitted during season on Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Hours: Navigable waterways are open 24/7. Call to inquire about seasonal field condition limitations. Headquarters office is open weekdays from 8-4pm: 239-657-8001.
