Wild Florida Ecotours
Wild Florida Ecotours is located at Port of the Islands, known as “The Gateway to the Everglades”. Just 20 minutes from Marco Island, on U.S. 41, this location provides both local and migratory bird species. Shelling on barrier islands such as Hog Key and White Horse Key are an option, areas not seen by very many tourists or locals. Members of our staff include an environmental scientist, marine biologist and Florida Master Naturalist, all educated in flora and fauna of the region. A variety of tours, catering to groups of 3-6 people on a pontoon boat, are available:
A 2 1/2 hour nature tour with a captain as your guide will show you the western mangrove forest of the Everglades where you have an opportunity to see manatees, and gators. Once in to the estuary of Faka-Union Bay, you will be in the home of bottlenose dolphins, a variety of egrets and herons and the winter habitat of the migratory White Pelicans.
A 3 1/2 hour tour will include all of the above plus a stop on a remote beach to collect sea shells and enjoy the solitude of a secluded island. For those interested in kayaking, we will transport you, and our kayaks, by boat to an area where dolphins and bird life are a regular sight. Enjoy kayaking for 90 minutes in the pristine waters of the western ‘Glades. Our fishing charter is captained by a guide who knows these area waters extremely well.
Book a 4, 6 or 8 hour charter and enjoy a day on the water in our 25 foot fishing boat with a chance to catch a variety of local fish, plus seasonal favorites that migrate through this fantastic region of the western Everglades. Wild Florida Ecotours’ staff is very sensitive to the current social circumstances and complies with the most recent safety guidelines issued by the CDC.
