Seafood Restaurants On Florida’s Paradise Coast That You Simply Have To Try
You’ll find seafood restaurants by the dozen in Naples, Marco Island and Everglades City. It’s hard to cover them all, so consider this article a primer for getting to know our abundant seafood scene. These 10 impeccable eateries represent a variety of concepts, atmospheres, and locations throughout Florida’s Paradise Coast.
Looking for more than just seafood? Worry not! The restaurants featured below also provide other offerings, from steaks to pasta and more.
SAILS RESTAURANT
Set amid a cluster of fine dining establishments on 5th Avenue South in downtown Naples, Sails Restaurant is not only known as one of the Paradise Coast’s best seafood restaurants — it’s one of the area’s best restaurants, period.
This upscale establishment combines an elegant atmosphere, gourmet meals derived from France, Italy and Greece, and Old World service to make for the perfect evening. Sails brings its fish in daily, and its prix-fixe menus are designed to serve up a well-rounded – not to mention unforgettable – culinary experience.
THE DOCK AT CRAYTON COVE
Part of a funky, nautical-themed shopping and dining district in Naples, The Dock at Crayton Cove has been operating since 1976, and for good reason. The restaurant is on a long list of Paradise Coast restaurants with al fresco seating. The vast open-air dining area overlooks Naples Bay and a nearby marina.
The Dock imbues its fresh seafood with influences from the Caribbean, but the menu also includes your choice of fish, fried or blackened, along with a raw bar. This place is emblematic of old Naples.
FIN BISTRO
An unpretentiously classy Marco Island restaurant, Fin Bistro is renowned for its dedication to serving local and regional fish and shellfish. It’s even closed on Sundays because fresh products aren’t available on that day. Fin Bistro orders, butchers, and cooks its fresh catch daily. The restaurant also sources meats, produce and more from area farmers. The menu ranges from charred octopus to chowder, Caribbean spiny lobster to Key West swordfish piccata.
TRIAD SEAFOOD MARKET & CAFE
If you’re looking to eat fresh seafood on a picnic table on a covered patio in one of America’s most intriguing towns, you can hardly do better than Triad Seafood Market & Cafe in Everglades City. The outdoor dining room looks over the Barron River, one of the tributaries that lead to Chokoloskee Bay.
The vast (and nicely priced) menu includes just about every sea critter you can think of, served in generous baskets and sandwiches. And just so you know: Everglades City is the Stone Crab Capital of the World, and the rest of the Paradise Coast joins in that distinction. During the season — October 15 to May 1 — Triad sources the delectable crustaceans daily. The rustic eatery is a scenic 50-minute drive from downtown Naples and 35 minutes from Marco Island.
SWAN RIVER SEAFOOD
At this combination of restaurant, raw bar, and gourmet seafood market in Naples, the market supplies the restaurant. The market at Swan River Seafood is supplied by the world: haddock from Maine, sea bass from Peru, ora king salmon from New Zealand, and local favorites from Florida like black grouper.
The raw bar is out of this world and offers freshly caught local stone crab when in season. With a fun, nautical-themed decor and casual, New England-y vibe, Swan River has long been a hit with visitors and locals alike.
THE OYSTER SOCIETY
“Our oyster is your world,” goes the slogan for this hip eatery and bar on Marco Island. With an array of fish dishes, a sushi bar, and an oyster/raw bar, The Oyster Society leaves no seafood option unturned.
The owners proudly state their commitment to running a sustainable and eco-conscious establishment. The 1920s speakeasy-style interior, a top-shelf craft cocktail menu, and live music on weekends make The Oyster Society a hot social gathering spot.
HOGFISH HARRY’S
Tucked away in a small oasis in the heart of Naples, Hogfish Harry’s
captures the essence of tropical dining through eclectic coastal delights and refined seafood creations.
Chef Everett Fromm offers up a line of seafood, from shrimp and scallops to lobster, crab, and the house specialty — Hogfish. With a vibrant yet casual ambiance and an island-inspired bar, Hogfish Harry’s welcomes you to relax, enjoy, and indulge in tropical-inspired cocktails and the day’s freshest catch.
SEA SALT
A local institution, Sea Salt opened in 2008 and instantly earned a prestigious spot on Esquire’s Best New Restaurants list. It’s among a legion of fine dining establishments in Florida’s Paradise Coast. Chef Fabrizio Aielli serves up Venetian-style cooking with a coastal-cuisine flair, highlighted by wild-caught seafood and organic, local produce.
Located on Third Street South in Naples, Sea Salt’s vibe is upscale but not stuffy, and features an expansive covered patio. The menu covers the seafood gamut, from a grilled octopus (hot) and cured salmon crudo (cold) appetizers, to sumptuous whole fish (the branzino is out of this world).
MR. BIG FISH
This family-style restaurant emphasizes value and freshness, with a menu that’s stuffed with familiar favorites. It’s in a shopping center in the Park Shore area of Naples — centrally located near the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, several golf courses, and just east of a public beach. The Fresh Catch section of the menu showcases a dozen different plates of seafood cooked five different ways, plus sides. Mr. Big Fish’s ample dining room is particularly suited for large parties.
LEEBE FISH
This well-kept secret in The Shoppes at Old Marco started as a place for a commercial fisherman, Stanley “Lee” Tinter, to sell his catch, and has grown into a combination market and restaurant. It’s one of the more “Old Florida” eateries amid Marco Island’s eclectic dining scene.
The menu includes platters, baskets, sandwiches, and sides. LeeBe Fish still sources its fish from its boats, so dining here means eating seafood that’s just recently been pulled from local waters. In other words: super-fresh.
